News

Youmna Chamcham (BFA 13 Graphic) participated in a panel discussion on ‘How Instagram is Changing the World’ at the International Center of Photography in New York. ICP

Zhenya Gershman (MFA 01 Art) joined a panel at The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles to explore visual memories of immigrant ancestry. SKIN-4

Samuel Gonzalez Jr. (BFA 13 Film) was nominated at this years Emmy Awards under the municipal broadcast films category for ‘Pasadena: Crown City’ on KPAS. Emmy Nominations

Laura Leiman (BFA 99 Graphic) received a 2015 Regional Arts & Culture Council grant that she used for a 12-week project assisting middle school students navigating their creative identity. RAAC

Martha Rich (BFA 00 Illustration) was featured in the Philly Voice in the article ‘Nine Philadelphia illustrators you should follow’. Philly Voice

Frédéric Dedelley (BS 90 Product) held an opening for the work he produced during his residency at the Sitterwerk’s Studio House in St. Gallen, Germany. The Studio House June 2

Dean Fleming (BFA 87 Illustration) is exhibiting work at solo show titled Dreams & Delusions at The Gilb Museum in Arcadia. The Gilb Museum July 11- September 19

Sissel Hovden (BFA 99 Graphic) is showing work at Agora Gallery in New York in the exhibition Spatial Articulation. Agora Gallery June 12 – July 2

Adam D. Miller (MFA 08 Art) and Devon Oder (MFA 07 GART), owners of the LA creative exhibition space The Pit, are currently exhibiting a group show, Lost in a Sea of Red. The Pit June 7-July 18

Bob Rivoire (BFA 66 Photography) was featured in a solo exhibition at the Dubuque Museum of Art in Dubuque, Iowa. Finding Beauty: Photographs February 20 – May 31

Jeff Soto (BFA 02 Illustration) opened a show of recent work in Los Angeles titled Nightgardens: Jeff Soto. Merry Karnowsky Gallery June 27- July 25

Joel Tauber (MFA 01 Art) explores human altruism in The Sharing Project, a 15 channel video installation. The University Art Museum June 13 – July 19

Edwin Ushiro (BFA 00 Illustration) will exhibit a new collection of drawings in his solo show titled The Study of Life as Things at Giant Robot 2. GR2 July 18 – August 5

Crowd funding

Claire Harlan (BFA 05 Photography) and the team at Petel successfully funded a project raising support for a collaborative design project with local artisans in Bogue, Maurtania. Kickstarter
