With the holidays behind us and election season upon us for the foreseeable future, this is the perfect time to divert our attention to the edifying pursuit of creative fulfillment. And what better way to do that than with this extra bulky edition of ArtCenter Alumni Notes.

Edward Eyth (BS 85 Product Design) was on a panel discussion for his concept designer work on Back to the Future Part II as part of the Toyota Mirai premier event. Toyota Newsroom

Stuart Fingerhut’s (BS 10 Environmental Design) light fixture designs were featured in Homestyle Magazine (Egypt) and Retail Design Blog.  Stuart Fingerhut & Retail Design Blog

Peg Hammerschmidt (BS 93 Environmental Design) was named the 2015 Professional of the Year by America’s Registry of Outstanding Professionals. PR.com

Eirik Nielsen (BS 97 Product Design) was featured on Marketplace in the Marketplace Morning Report for his company Ghost Works. Marketplace

Joshua Paul (BFA 97 Photography) was interviewed for The Daily Edit on aPhotoEditor, for his Grand Prix magazine Lollipop Magazine. aPhotoEditor

Soren Petersen (BS 94 Transportation Design) recently published an article on automobile designer and fellow alum Chris Bangle (BS 81 Transportation Design). Huffington Post

Kristine Bybee (BFA 1983 Graphics/Packaging) had an exhibition, Reflections/The Western Landscape at the Hangar Gallery at the Santa Monica Art Studios. December 19 – January 30. Santa Monica Art Studios

Tyrone Drake (BFA 96 Graphics/Packagin) had an exhibition, Hard Bop: Reflections + Interpretations of a Militant Manifesto, at the Hoffmitz Milken Center for Typography. Also, there is a KCRW Design and Architecture interview discussing his exhibition. November 7 – January 15. HMCT & KCRW

Fatima Ghanavi (BFA 14 Graphic Design), Antoinette Adams (BFA 14 Art) and Sionnan Hillier (BFA 12 Art) were in a group multi-media exhibition, Taste, at Monsterrat. November 27 – December 3. Monsterrat

Zhenya Gershman (MFA 01 Graduate Art) has paintings in a group exhibition, Pretty People, at the California Lutheran University: Kwan Fong Gallery of Art and Culture, Soiland Humanities Center. January 9 – February 26. In addition Zhenya’s “Larger Than Life” paintings, presented by Building Bridges Art Exchange, were featured at the LA Art Show. January 27 – 31. Jayme Odgers (BFA 62 Advertising) had a solo exhibition of self-portraits, Where Am I Today? at the Offramp Gallery. December 6 – January 3. Offramp Gallery

George Porcari, (MFA 87 Graduate Art), has a solo exhibition of photographic collage works titled Greetings from LA: 24 Frames and 50 Years, at haphazard gallery. A catalogue has been published in conjunction with the exhibition and features an introduction written by alum Jorge Pardo (BFA 88 FINE) and is designed by Karen Davison (BFA ILLU 06). Keri Rosebraugh (BFA 89 Illustration) collaborated with artist Phillippe Nodluaner to create the site-specific installation in support of Paris, An Ankh For Paris, November 2015. Keri Rosebraugh

Diana Thater’s (MFA 90 Graduate Art) mid-career retrospective, Diana Thater: The Sympathetic Imagination, is at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. A catalogue was published in conjunction with the exhibition. November 22 – February 21. LACMA

CROWDFUNDING

Cassie Zhang (BFA 15 Illustration) is raising funds to support her upcoming pop-up exhibition, Loosley Curated, which features 18 ArtCenter alumni and students. Indiegogo
