Dana L. Walker is an Art Center all-star: a multi-talented player who excels in every position she plays. Walker is the director of Art Center at Night and managing director of Art Center’s suite of public programs (including Art Center for Kids, Saturday High and Summer Institute for Teachers). She is also an Art Center alumna, holding a BFA from the Photography and Imaging program. She also happens to be an occasional Art Center at Night student and an artist in her own right.
Walker was recently one of 50 artists selected to participate in “Brand 42 Works On Paper: Celebrate” at Brand Library & Art Center in Glendale opening Saturday, May 17th. Dana’s photograph, “measured spaces: diptych 1,” has been selected by the jury for a Brand Associates Patron Award.
The piece was chosen from her “measured spaces” series. “Images in this new series explore the mundane. Time appears suspended as intimate portraits of spaces emerge through elements of light, space and color. Sources of inspiration for this series include Edward Hopper, former Grad Art instructor Uta Barth and alumnus Hiroshi Sugimoto (BFA 74 Photography),” explains Walker.
“My true [artistic] passion really is fine art concepts with photography as a medium,” she told Dotted Line last year.
For over four decades the Annual Juried Exhibition, organized and sponsored by the Brand Associates, has been one of the preeminent stages upon which more than 2,000 artists from around the country have exhibited their work. The Southern California-based artists, educators and critics who have served as jurors during those 40 years enhance this monumental record. The exhibition was judged by Jack Rutberg, the owner and director of Jack Rutberg Fine Arts Inc in Los Angeles, which features exhibitions of important modern and contemporary European, American, and Latin American artists.
The opening reception takes place Saturday, May 17, from 7–9 p.m. and the exhibition is on view through June 20th.

Sharon especially loves decorating a home in wooden furniture and believes that
nothing gives a home as warm and cozy a touch as all-wood furniture and decor.
This allows for specific categorization of the content of the site making it
easier to find what you’re looking for. In fact, it was greatly impacting American and European sculptures and paintings.
So how can you use an area rug to create a dramatic effect in different rooms.
The canvas wall art can quickly make a great feeling
if you choose appropriate colours. This should be easy because there are so many different styles of metal wall art to choose from.
