Are You Excited About Attending Art Center?

Recently, Art Center’s Admissions Office asked their Facebook fans to answer a simple question: Are you excited about attending Art Center? They expected to receive a quick note or video, but never anything as moving as incoming Entertainment Design student Saiful Haque created. Watch his beautiful, well-crafted and poignant film expressing his feelings about attending the College below.

We would love to hear from more incoming students as well. Feel free to send us a paragraph, a video, a drawing—whatever helps you express how you feel about becoming the newest member of the Art Center family.

Meet Annis Naeem

What’s the most important life lesson that Entertainment Design student Annis Naeem has learned while at Art Center? It’s a pretty simple one—to share.

“Don’t hide what you create from your peers and the world because you are afraid of your idea being stolen,” explains Naeem. “If you do, you will never have the chance to hear someone else’s criticism, input and thoughts on the matter—and that might help improve your original idea.”

Student Sylvia Liu Wins G.I.R.L. Scholarship

Entertainment Design student Sylvia Liu is the winner of Sony Online Entertainment’s $10,000 2010 G.I.R.L. Scholarship. She has been awarded a 10-week paid internship at SOE’s headquarters in San Diego as well as a $10,000 scholarship.

Liu was one of over 200 applicants vying for the Gamers in Real Life, or G.I.R.L.,  scholarship, which aims to help more women enter the video game industry. Finalists were asked to submit original concept art depicting a new game environment and new characters for either Free Realms or EverQuest II.

Congrats, Sylvia!
